Maya’s personal narrative is a testament to love’s enduring power. Reunited with her ex-husband, Terry Balle, after twelve years apart, their story adds depth to her understanding of love’s complexities.
As the proud Godmother to Tanisha Cooper, a gospel singer and devoted mother, and Tezz Yancey, a performer with leading roles in “Vegas the Revue,” Maya’s family extends across continents and cultures. Her joy is further amplified by her two grandchildren, affectionately calling her “GramMaya,” with whom she cherishes moments over burgers and pancakes. Additionally, Maya is blessed with seven Godchildren with roots in India, reflecting her global embrace of love and family.
With over 25 years of experience, Reverend Maya specializes in creating personalized ceremonies that honor life’s significant moments. Whether officiating weddings, funerals, baby blessings, or vow renewals, she brings a compassionate presence and a deep understanding of diverse spiritual traditions.
Serving clients throughout the Northeast U.S. and beyond, Maya is dedicated to crafting ceremonies that resonate with authenticity, warmth, and poetic grace.
In honor of Ethel Bluma Solway Sieman, beloved mother of Susan Sieman Plutzer, Norman Sieman, Sara Sieman, and grandson, Alex Plutzer. In her 102 years she gave us gifts of love, wisdom and her wry sense of humor. She died in April 2020 from complications due to Covid-19. Ethel knew she was adored. When asked at 101 what wisdom she would share, with a glint in her eyes, she responded, “Because I am 102 everyone asks me that! If you want to know you have to buy my book.” With that we would laugh out loud. Her memory is our solace.
